While we don’t have any indoor Play Café pop-ups on the schedule for the summer months, we’re actively working behind the scenes on plans for a more permanent space—stay tuned!
In the meantime, you can still catch us out and about in the community. We’ve put together a list of upcoming family-friendly events in the area that we think you’ll love. At some of these, we’ll be there with a dedicated play area, adding a little extra joy for the little ones. Keep an eye out for us—we can’t wait to see you this summer!
Juneteenth celebration at Cambridge Common
The Play Café is proud to bring the joy to this year’s Juneteenth celebration at Cambridge Common! We’re supporting the event by hosting the Children’s Play Area, where families will find fun, inclusive activities designed especially for kids. From games and crafts to opportunities for creative expression, we’re creating a space where children can play, learn, and celebrate together. It’s an honor to contribute to a day that uplifts community, culture, and liberation—and we can’t wait to see you there!
City Dance Party: Revolutionary Reunion 250
Join thousands of Cambridge residents and visitors who will gather on Massachusetts Avenue in front of Cambridge City Hall (795 Massachusetts Avenue) for the City’s Dance Party on Friday, June 27, from 6-11 p.m. For the third year in a row, the Dance Party will expand its footprint all the way to Prospect Street and one hour has been added on to the end of the night.
Center for Families' Family Fun Day
We hope you can join for a fun-filled day of games, bubble shows, water play, arts and crafts activities, giant basketball, infant area, book giveaways, free light lunch and much more!
This is a free event for Cambridge families with children birth-8 years old.
Fresh Pond Day!
On Saturday, June 14th from 11:00am to 3:00pm all are welcome to join the Cambridge Water Department for Fresh Pond Day! There will be a touch-a-truck event, live music, animal exhibits, games & crafts, free popcorn and water bottles!
Messy Marvels Sensory Play Group
Join Messy Marvels on Saturday mornings to play on the playground, blow bubbles, and use our senses by getting messy!
The Play Cafe Pop-Up
The Play Cafe is a pop-up play space and cafe combined into one, designed especially for young children and the grown-ups who love them!
As new parents ourselves, we understand how important it is to have a space like this. Whether you’re in the fourth trimester, deep in toddlerhood, or somewhere in between, whether you’re a stay-at-home parent or working full-time, and whether it’s your first rodeo or you’re a seasoned pro, we believe that having a supportive community makes all the difference.
Show up as you are and we’ll take care of the rest!
Hours: 10 AM – 1 PM.Feel free to drop in anytime during those hours!
We greatly appreciate it when tickets are purchased in advance, as it helps us plan accordingly. However, we completely understand that things can come up last minute so you're also welcome to purchase a ticket at the door.
